Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM) in Tomball, TX

Most people have never heard of Frequency-Specific Microcurrent, and then they try it and wonder why nobody told them sooner. It is one of the quietest tools in our clinic, and often one of the most talked about afterward.

FSM uses an extremely low-level electrical current, so small you usually cannot feel it, delivered through soft pads or damp towels placed on the body. The current is set to specific frequency pairs, and each pairing is chosen for what we are trying to encourage in your body that day. Published studies have shown that microcurrent can increase the cell’s own energy production, known as ATP, quite dramatically. That matters because tissue with more energy available tends to recover and settle down better than tissue running on empty.

At Lorenz Total Wellness, FSM is one of the hands-on therapies hands-on therapies we offer alongside our signature Synergy Release Therapy. Where SRT works with your skeletal and muscular systems by hand to release the tension patterns behind pain, FSM works at a level you cannot reach with hands alone. The two pair well. Many clients receive FSM during the same visit as their bodywork, and some come in for FSM sessions on their own.

What a session feels like

Honestly, not like much, and that surprises people. You lie down comfortably, fully clothed in most cases. We place moistened towels or adhesive pads on the areas we are addressing, set the frequencies, and let the current run while you rest. There is no zap, no buzz, no sting. Most people feel relaxed, and a fair number doze off. Sessions typically run 30 to 60 minutes depending on what we are working on.

Afterward, some people notice a softening in the sore area right away. For others the change shows up over the next day or two. We always tell you what to watch for so you can report back at your next visit.

Why frequencies matter

The “frequency-specific” part is the whole point. Different frequency combinations are associated with different tissues and different goals, such as calming an irritated area, easing muscle tightness, or encouraging the body’s natural healing response. Your practitioner selects the frequencies based on your free full-body assessment and what your body shows us that day, rather than running a generic program on everyone.

This is not a medical treatment and we do not use it to diagnose or cure any disease. It is a gentle, non-invasive way to give your body’s own recovery process a nudge in the right direction, and to reduce pain so the rest of your care can do its job.

Who tends to ask for FSM

People come to us for FSM for all sorts of reasons. Common ones include:

  • Nagging muscle soreness that massage alone has not fully resolved
  • Old injuries that still ache when the weather turns
  • Tension that keeps creeping back between bodywork sessions
  • Athletes wanting to recover faster between training days
  • Anyone who prefers a gentle option with no pressure or manipulation involved

Because it is so gentle, FSM is a good fit for people who are sensitive to deep pressure or who simply want to add something restorative to their existing sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Does Frequency-Specific Microcurrent hurt? No. The current is far below the level you can feel. Most clients describe the session as deeply relaxing, and falling asleep on the table is common.

How many sessions will I need? It depends on what we are addressing and how your body responds. Some people notice a difference after one session; longer-standing issues usually benefit from a short series. We reassess as we go and never book more than your progress supports.

Can I combine FSM with Synergy Release Therapy or massage? Yes, and we often recommend it. FSM can be run during or after hands-on work in the same visit, and many clients find the combination holds longer than either alone.

Is FSM the same as a TENS unit? No. TENS uses a much stronger current designed to mask pain signals while it is on. FSM uses a current roughly a thousand times smaller, with specific frequencies chosen to encourage your body’s own recovery rather than just covering up discomfort.

Is there anyone who should not have FSM? We do not use FSM on clients with pacemakers or implanted electrical devices, or during pregnancy. Your free assessment includes a review of anything that would make another approach a better fit for you.

Do I need a doctor’s referral? No referral needed. Call, book your free full-body assessment, and we will take it from there.
