Treatment Methods Used at Lorenz Total Wellness

  • What it does: In combination with the therapist’s manual approach, it offers excellent results thanks to fast recovery of muscle and joint functions due to increased production of ATP within the cells.
  • How it works: WINBACK TECAR is a high-frequency current operating at 300 KHz ,500 KHz and 1 MHz depending on the selected mode. This non-invasive current stimulates the body’s natural repair mechanisms, promoting cellular exchange (sodium and potassium ions).
  • What to expect: Lotion infused with electrolytes is used to transmit the body-native, high frequency current into the body. You will not feel most of the current, as it is already what your body is used to from the brain and heart. The machine is used in collaboration with manual therapy methods in order to calm, loosen, and replenish soft and connective tissues in the body. Most TECAR treatments are quite pleasant and calming.

  • What it does: Frequency-specific microcurrent, or FSM has been shown in published studies to increase energy (ATP) production in cells by 500%.
  • How it works: Treatment with FSM is non-invasive and painless. Microcurrent devices deliver frequencies and current in millionths of an amp. In FSM, depending on the tissue involved, specific frequencies are selected to encourage natural healing of the body and to reduce pain. Frequencies have been identified for nearly every type of tissue in the body.
  • What to expect: During FSM treatment, clients may notice warmth and a softening of affected tissues.

  • What it does: Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)  treats pain and adjusts muscle tightness.
  • How it works: TENS is a non-invasive therapy which involves the use of low-voltage electric currents. Electrodes are placed on the body to deliver electricity that travels through the nerve fibers.
  • What to expect: Varying electro-stimulating frequencies used through electrodes that influence the muscles to do different things depending on the setting. Expect muscles to be comfortable and relaxed after utilization.
  • What it does: After just 20 minutes of treatment, blood flow is increased to nerves and other tissues, and this boost in local circulation persists for several hours after the pads are removed.
  • How it works: Light energy from the diodes penetrate the skin and is absorbed by proteins within cells that lay beneath the skin. Those cells release nitric oxide, the body’s natural vasodilator (widener or blood vessels).
  • What to expect: Polychromatic light therapy is non-invasive and painless. Flexible pads, containing multiple infrared and visible red diodes, are placed directly on the skin and give a warm, calming sensation.

  • What it does: Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is also referred to as “muscle scraping,” “Gua Sha,” the Graston Method, or Blading. IASTM influences the body’s natural ability to heal by allowing release of chronic tension within soft tissues.
  • How it works: Instruments break down fascial adhesions, restrictions, and scar tissue, simultaneously influencing the body to rebuild.
What to expect: If significant scar tissue is present, expect acute discomfort during treatment. In most cases, positive effects can be felt immediately.

  • What it does: The term “Myofascial release” encompasses many different hands-on methods that influence the proper functioning of muscular systems. Examples include massage therapy, active release therapy (ART), and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), or assisted stretching.
  • How it works: The “fascia” is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. “Myofascial release” incorporates multiple stretching methods to influence the fascia.
  • What to expect: Depending on the state of their muscular system, some clients may find Myofascial release to be acutely unpleasant, often followed by immediate relief.
  • What it does: Don’t just relax your body — restore it to its full potential. Synergy Release Massage Therapy reduces stress and improves overall well-being for results that go far beyond those of a traditional massage.
  • How it works: All the tension relief of a massage is combined with specialized methods to influence self-healing for powerful wholistic results.
  • What to expect: In addition to the format of a traditional massage, beneficial specialties are added into the appointment, including but not limited to TECAR therapy, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and assisted stretching.
